Kathleen Baldwin, affectionately known at Kat, is an extreme pantser (‘pant-zər: one who writes by the seat of her pants). But she adores her friends here at the Plotting Princesses. They are smart, funny, generous, caring women – a sisterhood of authors.
Kat is an award winning author with four Regency romantic novels published by Zebra Books an imprint of Kensington. All four books will soon be available via eBook. Currently she is writing YA. More news on that soon.

Writing since childhood, Kat published nonfiction and poetry at an early age and kept on going. She studied literature, and favored the wit and humor of Oscar Wilde, P.G. Wodehouse and Jane Austen. (Yes, Jane Austen had a biting wit, and despite modern depictions, intended us to find humor in her books.)

Writing came as natural as breathing. In fact Kat’s family expected her to become a writer. Planned on it. Pushed it. So, naturally, she tried to do anything else: flipping majors from science, history, English education, psychology and finally graduating with a degree in fine art & design. (Too bad skiing and rock-climbing wasn’t engraved on her diploma - she excelled at that.)

Yet here she is today, still writing. No regrets. All those other diversions contributed to a rich background from which to draw on for her stories. Besides, she wouldn’t have missed the party. Someone DID say writing is a party, right? Oh yeah, that was the Plotting Princesses.

Kathy Ivan - I can’t remember a time when books and reading weren’t a part of my daily life. I was blessed with a mother who instilled the love of reading in me at a young age. That progressed into a passion for the written word in all forms, which led to my writing. Every day I have new stories and new ideas roaming through my brain, the characters chomping at the bit for their turn to be front and center and have their story told. Today that love of storytelling translates into my desire to write and share my stories with others. I write in many genres, but I’m currently concentrating on romantic suspense and paranormal.

My day job is about as uncreative as it gets. I do medical transcription, spending numerous hours at the computer each day trying to decipher the mumbled, garbled and often unrecognizable words the physicians are dictating, in an effort to make a complete and comprehensive patient record. It’s almost as bad as trying to read their handwriting!

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, I’ve lived in various places throughout my youth, from California to Hawaii and back to Florida (Key West), before finally settling in Texas.

I am a member of Romance Writers of American and the Dallas Area Romance Authors (DARA), where I’m an active member; you can find me at the local meetings each month. I love talking with other readers and writers, so feel free to contact me.

A native New Yorker, Chris Keniston was on her way to Australia when she fell in love with North Texas. Little did she know the balmy seventy-degree October days would turn into fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk heat in August!

Twenty years later, she started scribbling short stories about her favorite TV shows, giving them lives more to her liking—and the elusive happy ending. Not long after, a dear friend dragged her to a local writers’ meeting. After winning multiple writing contests and making the finals in the Romance Writers of America’s prestigious Golden Heart contest, she now spends her days, and nights, writing contemporary romantic fiction with lots of emotion, plenty of surprises, and, of course, the happily ever after.

Chris lives in suburban Dallas with her husband, two human children, and two canine children. Though she loves her puppies equally, she admits being especially attached to her German Shepherd rescue named Gunny. After all, even dogs deserve a happily ever after.

One might ask how an accounting graduate who spent twenty plus years in the technology field became a romance writer. Well, it’s quite simple. Pam Stone is an only child whose classy mom put her energy into her wardrobe, dance, and piano lessons. Add an amazing father who added go kart racing, slot cars, water skiing, and a pony to the mix. Toss in a wild imagination and summers in the country: lazy walks on her grandparent’s farm and another grandmother with a shed full of Harlequin romance novels to while away hot afternoons and voila.

Writing is pure escapism. Childhood imaginary friends developed into teenage fantasies. Later as a mother of two young, rambunctious sons, she began writing to keep in touch with the adult world; at least it was worth a shot. She continued writing as a method to wind down in the evenings from long, exhausting days spent in Corporate America. Anybody notice a pattern here? Not enough adult socialization – write. People overload – write. Either way, writing keeps her sane. Cheaper than a therapist and tons more fun.

She still resides in Texas with her childhood sweetheart and husband of...well we won’t mention how many years. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling. From Hawaii, to California, to Florida, to the Caribbean, if there’s a beach, she's there. She also loves spending time with friends and family, especially four adorable grandkids. She loves writing romance and sold her first novel, Last Resort: Marriage, to Harlequin American on Friday the 13th, June 2008. How’s that for luck!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sasha Summers is part gypsy. Her passions have always been storytelling, Hollywood, history, and travel. It’s no surprise that her books include a little of each. Her first play, ‘Greek Gods and Goddesses’ was written for her Girl Scout troupe. She’s been writing ever since. She loves getting lost in the worlds and characters she creates; even if she frequently forgets to run the dishwasher or wash socks when she’s doing so. Luckily, her four brilliant children and hero-inspiring hubby are super understanding and supportive.
