Keeping Warm When It's Cold Outside

It's been cold recently. Has anyone else noticed that or is it just me?
I like the occasional cold spell now and then. But, I don't like feeling cold for long periods of time. So I've been looking into ways to keep warm.
Exercise. Um... Pass?

Cooking. The problem with cooking warm, delicious comfort food (especially when you have the above exercise regimen) is it tends to expand the waist... thighs... etc. And while I'm a fan of a more Ruben-esque female form, one must be careful.

So, once you've stared at your exercise tapes and enjoyed some warm yumminess, what should you do?

Why READ a book of course. A really good, make-your-toes-tingle, thrill up the back of your spine, lose yourself in the world on the pages, forget to eat, sleep, and put off using the facilities until you finish the next page book.

So, who are you reading? And how warm are they keeping you? I'm looking for a new read so I'd love some suggestions.

I just finished 2 very good books by Marti Green: Unintended Circumstances and Presumption of Guilt(Innocent Prisoner series). They are not love stories, but they are books I found hard to put down. Another awesome series is The Color of Heaven series by Julianne MacLean. I have read the first 4 and I loved every one of them. Of course, I highly recommend any from the members of the Plotting Princesses and Sky Purington!
I have also reopened MY WIP...Ice Dreams, with the intention of actually writing some more!
Stay safe and warm in this crazy weather! It feel like they moved Texas to Canada while I was sleeping!

Good morning! I'd love to workout, but was cancelled due to six inches of wintry mix. Love that term. So took care of the dogs, shall have some breakfast and shower, then write on TE 2.

I've been reading Tana French mystery. Very good.

"Wintry mix" always makes me think of carrots, cauliflower, and broccoli.

Who I'm reading: Jodi Thomas, today.

But the cold outside, and the strange view of snow dunes on my picnic table, helps me stay in the wintertime novella I'm working on.

There's a small dog at my feet, under the blanket, and a mid-size dog looking at me and gritting her front teeth. Hubs wisely and uncharacteristically decided to stay off the road till around ten o'clock. Life is good.

When it's snowy, I always fix a cold weather food - chili, stew, chicken pot pie or a roast. Since the snow is melting, tonight we're having chicken wings. Not my favorite, but my husband loves them spicy. What I'm reading...well I'm in between books at the moment. I read a short western historical the Tuesday night and tonight probably I will work on adding twitter followers while I watch some TV.
