Michelle Miles: Never Tell Me The Odds

Whoa. It's August. Hard to believe July is in the rear view mirror!

It's been a hectic one. The kiddo started driving for reals and I have significantly more gray hair. I started a new job in June. Summer band camp started. School starts August 21! And so beginneth the crazy marching season. I'm gonna be a crazy person by the time football/marching season is all over but that is TOTALLY okay. You know why? Because I love it. I *love* marching season!!

Yeah, I'm a nerd.

And to prove it further, the IT folks over at the new day job know it's for sure because I have the Millennium Falcon on my desktop and Daenerys as my login picture. It's a great icebreaker. "You a Game of Thrones fan?" Well, duh. "AND a Star Wars fan?" Double, duh.

I have this really cool Medieval Star Wars art up on my wall in my cubicle and it garners all sorts of comments. It basically combines two of my very most favorite things: Star Wars and the Middle Ages.

I stare at it often. You can get yours for only $15 from the artist. Buy it here.

I also bought THIS AMAZING SHIRT:

Because I'm a super Harrison Ford fan. Isn't it just brilliant? Get yours here.

So, pretty sure I've cornered the market on my nerdism.

What are you a fan of?

Michelle Miles writes contemporary, paranormal and fantasy romance and is a rabid Game of Thrones and Star Wars fan. Visit her website for a list of her books and where to buy.

Oh Lordy, I love Raiders and Star Wars. GOT, no. But at our house, we love Batman and Bugs Bunny.

A while back, we went to a charity auction and my husband picked up an autographed original Star Trek cast photo in their uniform from one of the movies. That's his pride and joy. I have more Sherlock Holmes items than I care to admit. One of my favorites: a set of British first-day edition stamps of Sherlock Holmes.

Can't tell from my office desk, though....

Game of Thrones is some of the best storytelling on TV.

I love Raiders. Lost count of how many times I've seen them. Harrison Ford is awesome in anything he's in. Witness is an amazing film also. And I may be one of the few people who loved Devil's Own with he and Brad Pitt. Ford and Pitt. Enough said. And by the way, I'm a nerd too.

Loved the post! Especially loved the Indy looking at Solo shirt. Two of my favorite characters. And GoT, man, don't even get me started, you'll never escape! :) Love that show too! Being a nerd is great! :)

Am I going to get the cold shoulder and evil eye if I admit I've never seen a single episode of Game of Thrones? LOL Though I do like Harrison Ford and think he is a tremendous actor. I do have very eccentric watching tastes, too. I like Supernatural and have seen every episode. Also watch The Walking Dead.

I have seen all the Indiana Jones movies, though. Will that get me back into the cool kids group?

Pam - Witness was the first rated R movie I saw and I was underage. LOL My mom took me! Because it had Harrison Ford. :)

Kathy - If you like Walking Dead, you should try Game of Thrones. It's got it all and is definitely NOT for the squeamish. Truly some of THE BEST storytelling I've ever seen on TV. And the books the show is based on are not bad either. Just don't get attached to characters. LOL I'm a super fantasy nerd, though, so that could be why I love it so much.

And OF COURSE you're still in the cool kids group, even though you don't watch GoT. ;)
