SWEETHEARTS' CONTEST (DAY 4)

PLOTTING PRINCESSES "SWEETHEARTS' CONTEST"

For the next four days (Thursday through Sunday) we'll be posting first kisses here on the Plotting Princesses blog. Come back each day, read these wonderful little vignettes and leave a comment.

Why should you leave a comment? Ah, now that's the best present of all. Every person commenting between Valentine's Day and Sunday, 02/17/2013 at midnight EST will be entered in our Sweetheart's contest. The Prize: A brand new NOOK! Yes, you read that right. We'll be giving away a Nook SimpleTouch with GlowLight including a beautiful pink cover, to one lucky person who leaves a comment. That means every single day you have a chance to enter—just by reading the blog post and commenting.

What's sweeter than chocolate at Valentine's Day? A new e-reader so you can read about love, romance, and hope all year long. (Contest is open to U.S. Residents only.)

FIRST KISSES
Texts and the Single Chica (Liese Sherwood Fabre)

He followed me out the coffee shop. Halfway up the block, my heel caught in a crack in a sidewalk. I stumbled, and Javier's arms were around me in the next instant to steady me. I spun about, still in his embrace.

His eyes narrowed as he studied me. "You okay?" I nodded, unable to find my voice for a second. Could he feel my heart quicken? The heat rising in my face and body? "I'll. . . uh. . . I'll be in , , , t-touch , , , about , , , the pass."

All the time I'd been stammering out my thought, Javier had been moving "oh so slowly" closer to me, his eyes growing larger within my field in of vision. As the two separate irises merged, I closed my eyes, blocking out everything about me as his lips
first contacted mine.

They were as soft and warm as they had been on my cheek. Parting my lips, his tongue traced their edges before passing inside. The tip of his tongue met mine, but his restrained tenderness was not enough for me. I wanted more. I raised my hands and encircled his neck, pulling him tightly to me. He matched my own urgency, and we locked in a deep embrace.

Diary of a Teenage Fairy Godmother (Kathleen Baldwin & Andrea Sisco)

Without using her wings, Lilliana drifted up and up, never looking away from the intensity of Jake’s gaze. He flew the griffin up to meet her high above the trees. She saw nothing but Jake and the fierce adoration in his eyes. Nothing else mattered. Not even the shrieking hordes coming ever closer.

She unfurled her wings and hovered beside him. She wanted to say, do not die today, Jake Harrison.

She wished more than anything she could make him promise it. A futile wish. There were no guarantees of forever. Not with a human. Not with anyone. Even she could not make such a promise.

Did it really matter? Yes, it mattered. She wanted forever with him, and yet...

She had now.

That was something.

Something magnificent.

In that moment, she felt completely full, overflowing, bursting with more happiness than she’d ever felt in her whole life. She might live a hundred lifetimes and never feel this much joy. She no longer cared about time. Or death. All that mattered was the all-consuming goodness of this one moment.

There was only one thing worthy of being said, but words would not do the feeling justice. So Lilliana slipped between Tavari’s neck and wings. Hovering there, she faced Jake and pressed her lips against his.

Jake wrapped his free arm around her, pulling her closer. Time seemed to close its eyes. The world around them faded into a forgotten dream as their lips spoke wordlessly, eloquently of sweetness, joy and longing.

Losing Cassie—Destiny's Desires Series book #2 (Kathy Ivan)

Cassie leaned in resting her fingertips lightly against the scruff on his cheeks. The whisker burn felt good, felt right beneath her touch. He'd always been clean-shaved back in high school, but she liked this new, slightly edgier look. It suited him.

He meant to kiss her. She knew it, wanted it, needed it more than her next breath.

Expecting a brief touch of his lips against hers, instead his mouth possessed hers, branding her with a stark passion-filled merging of lips and teeth and tongues. If his intent was to consume her with need, goal accomplished. Nothing could've prepared her for the total eclipse of her emotions as desire raced through her, a burning deep inside, kindling for the raging fires of lust mixed with the memories of lost love.

If he can do this with a single kiss I don't stand a chance if he wants more.

Because she did—she wanted so much more than just one kiss.

Remember today's the last day until midnight to read about the first kisses of some amazing characters, and post a comment to be eligible to win. You could be the proud new owner of a NOOK SimpleTouch GlowLight with case.

This may not be a "first kiss" comment but the continued kiss from my husband touches me the most. So many of my friends are divorced or are going through divorces and spouses have died, at our young age. I feel so blessed to have the continued kisses from my true love everyday :)

Wow! This is the last day of the contest! I wonder who will win the nook?

This has been a fun thing. I love reading what everyone else has written.

I remember my very first kiss - I was six years old and the boy asked me if he could give me a kiss. His name was Allen. He kissed my lips. We both pulled back, stared at each other and agreed "blech!" That was my first and last kiss for another eleven years. The second kiss went so much better than the first!

I wish you ALLLL the best in your new release! Oh, I well remember my first kiss. Unfortunately, it was with a guy that my dad dubbed "the creepy crawler." Sigh. Actually, he was a nice guy, but I did move on, much to the delight of my parents! Happy Sunday!

I love writing 'first kiss' scenes. A couple's first kiss is so crucial to their romance, both in fiction and in real life. My DH and I have been married for 41 years and I knew the promise of his love from our first kiss...

I just adore all of these first kisses—the good and the not-so-good. :)

But Alee, I have to say, you're comment touched me the most of all. Thanks so much for sharing your sweet story.

I'm loving all the readers sharing their first kisses with us. Each is so unique and special in its own way.

Love all the writers first kiss scenes too. This has been such a blast reading everybody's first kiss between the hero and the heroine. The variety and scope of each is astounding. Great job everyone!

Think my first kiss was in junior high, probably 7th grade, at a party playing spin the bottle! Don't remember it being anything special. Except it was the first. The samples were really excellent and make me want to go back and look at my own first kiss scenes. And, I agree. Alee, that's the sweetest comment. :)

This may be crazy, but I'm posting again, because I have a message the post didn't go through, and yet I can see it on the screen. Weird, huh? Apologies if you've already received this. :)
