Every month in my newsletter I ask my readers a
question and have them respond. This helps me get to know them, and hopefully
they learn about me as well, since I answer every single email. This month I
asked them what they wished their sweetie would give them for Valentine’s Day.
Some of their responses were so sweet and caring that I’m sharing them with
you!
“I wish my sweetie would just plan a trip and take me away.
For once, I don't want to be the one who does all the planning and the packing.”
Kim
“I wish my sweetie would get me a pound
of Alaskan King Crab legs and we’ll have a wonderful dinner. I’m just not
a red roses kind of girl. Maybe this year-lol I've asked him for the last
33 years. I should put a sticky on his car steering wheel I think.” Jai
“Unfortunately, my sweetie has to fly over 1400 miles away on
V day to go to his first sweetheart, his mom. I give him willingly to the woman
that raised a good man, that needs him now, more than ever, being that he is
her oldest boy.” Carla
“If my sweetie were still with me, he would bring me
flowers, candy and take me to dinner. We would have to dress nice to go. He
always opened my door for me. I really miss him. He was a true gentleman.” Sharon
“If I
could have anything from my Sweetie for Valentines Day I wish he would surprise
me by telling me that I am Important to him and that he wants to have
"Date Night " twice a month where we can spend time together and he
can make me feel that on that day I am the one he wants to be with. Surprise me
once in awhile and reignite the spark!” Jayne
“I would be perfectly content to stay in our pajamas
and watch Netflix all day for Valentine's Day. I just want to spend time with my
husband since we rarely have a day off together. He has two jobs and works most
evenings as well as every weekend while I work days and have off Saturday and
Sunday. It would be so nice to have an entire day off with him.” Carrie
And the one that made me cry…
“My
husband and I have had a difficult time since my health has failed. I haven't
been able to work in almost four years. I also have been unable to do many of
the household chores due to my health problems. He has been increasingly bitter
as he must take on more and more of the familial responsibility. Fun times are
gone since there is never any extra money. I would love for my husband to look
at me with love and desire in his eyes, rather than looking at me as if I am a
burden. That alone is my wish.” Michelle
And
the one that we all share…
“I wish my sweetie would just tell me
how much he loves me and cares for me.” Carol
So tell me what you wish your sweetie
would give you for Valentine’s Day and be entered not only into the blog
giveaway, but I will give away a copy of Return to Cupid. A Valentine’s Day anthology
by Sylvia McDaniel, Carol Rose and Kathy Shaw. Happy Valentine’s Day!

If I had a sweetie, what would I want? Oh I don't know, not having a sweetie I don't think about this a lot.
Wow - I cried for that last lady, too :(. Here's hoping she gets her wish & gets that look of love!
As for me? I'm just glad The Man will be home - he normally isn't, and with his travel schedule and 3 kids, we normally only get to communicate in passing. I'd LOVE for just 30 minutes with The Man to reconnect! However, that's not happening on V-Day; instead I'm hosting a team Spag Dinner and will have a houseful of kids.
I just enjoy going out to dinner and spending time with my honey. After 23 yrs the spark is still there.
My sweetie has already given me a Valentine's gift -- another stuffed puppy for my collection. The newest is a Maltese, and I've named her "Valentina". Of course, he'll also bring roses, and we'll have a romantic dinner. I've got all the love and happiness I could ever wish for, so there's nothing more I need.
I'm getting my Valentine wish. The hubby and I are having a date night this weekend.
I would love a nice dinner out. We rarely go out to eat.
Hmmm, we don't typically do much for Valentine's Day, especially since it's only a little over a month out from our anniversary. Sometimes a card or a cool balloon. The couple times we tried to go out, it was a zoo. This year with a house full of people, a trip to the beach with just the two of us would be awesome. But alas, we'll be moving the kids into their new home. That's pretty cool too though.
Bailey,
Treat yourself to something nicer for Valentine's Day. Give yourself the present. At least you won't be getting car oil, which one of my friends received one time.
Michele,
I hope that soon you and your husband will get that thirty minutes to reconnect. A house full of kids is not a romantic night, but it still sounds like fun.
Donna,
It sounds like you have everything you want. Congratulations on the 23 years and keeping the spark alive. With our day-to-day stresses that's an accomplishment.
Christina,
Sounds like your husband knows just how to make you happy. I hope you guys have a wonderful Valentines Day.
Jennifer,
Date night...we go to the movies about twice a month and we go out to dinner once on the weekend so I guess we do date night. We hold hands and snuggle at the movies, but we don't plan a date night. Sounds like you guys have it all planned out. I bet its fun.

Rita,
I hope you get your Valentine's Day wish.
Pam,
As much as I love going out to dinner, on Valentine's Day it will be a zoo. I'm thinking we might stay home and then go out on Saturday night. Your kids are moving? Your weekend will be busy. Hope you have a good one.
We don't "do" V-day as a rule, but if we had the cash and time, I'd love a cruise to somewhere warm, since we live in New England and it's February. Of course, in February in New England, any plans to fly are subject to storm disruption, so it probably wouldn't work anyway
I would love for him to tell me he got a job..he's been unemployed for a year and a half and with a 2 year old at home it's been a little rough..thank goodness for books they relax you when it's rough
trip to Paris

I would love for my husband to take charge and make the decision that HE is taking me out to dinner. I usually make the plans because if I don't, it won't happen. But really, I couldn't ask for a better man.
I'm with Kim. I usually do all the trip planning (sometimes for another couple as well) and I would really love it if my Sweetie would just take me on a trip somewhere that he'd planned. We are going out for dinner Valentine night and that is special. Since we're retired, we have many 'dates' together but they're usually lunch or date afternoons rather than nights.
Hi, Sylvia! Oh my that reader has a hard time. I hope something happens to help her. Just so happens Handsome will be out of town. Sigh. Sometimes, he is gone on those special days, but the truth is any day should and is special. Hugs.
My sweetie is taking me away for the weekend, and we are going to a concert.

Teresa,
It's been a brutal winter and I know you would love to escape the bitter cold for just a little while. Maybe someday he'll surprise you with a cruise.
Karla,
I'm so sorry. Once we were both unemployed for almost a year. Toughest year of my life. I truly hope he finds a job soon. But try to make the evening special.
bn100!!
A trip to Paris would be lovely. I like the way you think.
Kim,
I'm with you and Linda on this one. If there are going to be plans made, I'm the one who makes them. I take care of the trip arrangements. Just once it would be fun if he'd surprise me.
Linda,
I loved your story of how your sweetie. That is so romantic that you guys are now together.
Vicki,
Handsome is out of town a lot. But then you're right every day should be special. Unfortunately, we let life get in the way and then it becomes routine.
Great post, Sylvia! I too was sad about that lady. I hope she gets her wish!
Great post, Sylvia. I hope all your readers' wishes come true!
I guess I would just like some peace and quiet. That and to not have to cook.
