Back to School Time!

I'm getting excited about fall approaching! How about you? We've had unseasonably mild temps in Texas for August and it has all of us aching with Autumn Fever! Who doesn't love crisp leaves, autumn fires, slow crock pot meals and football on Sundays?

With fall comes back to school for all the kids and I'm really excited this year because I've just released my anti-bully kid series for ages K-5! The first book released over the summer and the 2nd book will hit shelves this Christmas! Just like drug prevention, I believe we have to start at a very young age when teaching our kids. With teen suicides on the rise because of school bullying, this topic has reached an all time high so when a very talented artist, Alicia C. Mattern sent me drawings of her cute school aged zombie characters, I just knew I had to write the stories and join this fantastic journey to fight bullies worldwide!

Here's a blurb for Book I: Join the Zombie Squirts on their first day back at school where they reunite with Mr. Green, the crossing guard and Mr. Snell, their funny teacher who wears erasers in his ears and sings Monster Mash! Meet exchange student, Annie from Jamaica. When Annie is teased by the school yard bullies, the Zombie Squirts are quick to stick up for their new friend and teach the other kids why being Different is Cool!

Annie has a few surprises of her own and a lesson to teach Rudy Rotten and the other bullies! It's a creepy 'n cool first day at school you'll want to read over and over! Don't forget to look for Captain Crawly, the Pirate Spider who hides throughout the book! Team up with your friends to find his hiding places!

The ebook is on sale for only $1.99 through Halloween! You can find the buy links for Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Print versions and the high quality PDF for your computer HERE!

What started out as a simple anti-bullying book has grown by leaps and bounds. We now have an anti-bully kit for classrooms that goes along with the book with posters and banners to spread the word! And a percentage of our proceeds goes to benefit Project Anti-Bully, a fantastic anti-bully group, run by kids! We even have a sponsor to help get the message out! Our Zombie Squirts will be on their spaghetti sauce labels this fall! A portion of proceeds benefits Project Anti-Bully!

We decided to take our anti-bully message to the air waves! On August 8, 2013, we launched BULLY SURVIVAL 101 RADIO! We've had only 2 shows and already, over 1,000 people have listened to our show! We feature bully victims, former bullies, anti-bully groups, anti-bully musicians and educators! Join us tonight from 8 to 9 pm CST with special guest, Bud Collier of I'mBullyFree.org who will give out tips to bully victims. We'll also talk to actress, Victoria Lee Williams who will tell us about her therapy kitty, Tennessee! Did you catch her kitty's name with her last name? Tennessee Williams? I love it!!! (Tennessee as a kitten.)

You can listen live and login to chat! All our episodes are recorded and available 24/7 to listen to on Demand! Click HERE to go to Bully Survival 101 Radio!

My little ones are starting school next Monday! Happy Back to School to all the kids out there and to all the great Moms who are thanking the Man Upstairs for the end of summer! I know a lot of my writer friends can actually write now!

Yay! Love Zombie Squirts and their message! My 3 year old grand daughter LOVES them and asks me to read the book over and over! Her favorite is Buddy Bones. We can't wait for volume 2 (3, 4, 5, etc, lol)!

Love the concept. As a teacher, it is important to teach the children that different is okay!

This is wonderful work you are doing, Alicia!

Sure wish I had something like this when I was a child some 50 years ago. I was bullied for having red hair and wearing glasses.

Keep up the great and much needed message...not to mention the rest of your wonderful writing!
