Seven
weeks plus a few days...
What
does this mean? Seven weeks plus a few days until Christmas. Kinda scary. Did
you get a panic rush about needing to do this and that?
I'm
not so worried about Christmas. I'm worried about Thanksgiving.
For the first time, I am hostessing 25 (plus Handsome and myself) at my house.
I've held big parties before. I'm feeling crunched. The week before, Handsome and I have a company conference to go to. So that means less time to do stuff.

That's
why I started two weeks ago. I bought a new vacuum cleaner. I have polished
silver. Handsome and I cleaned out closets. I cleaned #2 son's room, even the
walls, woodwork, floors. Bought new comforter, moved pictures. Added new
pictures.
But
there's lots to do. I'll be busy this weekend. I wish I could get paint touch
up done.
Does
this really matter? Not really. But having guests over is a good push to get
that to-do list done.
As
for relaxing...
I
am working on two needlepoint projects
And
reading two books.
Today
is a big day too! It's the release of Season of Promises, a holiday anthology,
featuring my romantic comedy short story, "The Littlest Angel."
Two people. One prized ornament for the tree. Can a twosome get past their differences and discover the true meaning of Christmas?
I based this story on an ornament a neighbor made for my mom which I've always adored.

Lauren MacDonald has
always coveted her mother’s ornament, The Littlest Angel. When her mother gave
it to another, Lauren unearths a replacement only to have it snatched from her
hands.
Architect Smith Hancock’s grandmother has a little angel
which is missing. Locating another would make her holiday the best
ever. Only a feisty girl is claiming it for herself.

I am all about dessert at Thanksgiving, especially pie. I have a recipe for cranberry crunch to die for. What's your favorite holiday dessert?

Congrats on your latest release. I know it's a winner.
I love my pecan yams. They are so rich, you have to eat a little at a time! :)
I with you Vicki, immediately after Halloween, things start to get crazy preparing for the holidays. I love Thanksgiving too and Christmas is my favorite. I start decorating and love it. This year I'm giving a large party for my hubby on Dec 29 for his retirement so I've already starting organizing that too. Thanks for sharing and enjoy every minute.
Hi, Melissa! Every Thanksgiving, my aunt made dressing. My mom made sweet potatoes--the ooey gooey kind with lots of brown sugar and marshmallows. LOL
Hi, Judy! Oh my, you will be busy. Maybe you can incorporate decorations that transition well to New Years??? Thanks for stopping.
Congrats on your new release! I used to always host Thanksgiving, but our family was small, nowhere close to 25. Good luck with the preparations! My favorite dessert is pecan pie and carrot cake (my FIL and husband's recipe). Your cranberry crunch sounds good! :)
Pumpkin Pie!
Hi, Karilyn! Sigh. I'll get through and there will be some fun times and then most everyone leaves Friday; so down time! The crunch is delightful and easy. Let me know if you want the recipe!
Hi, Angela! You and Handsome on pumpkin pie. I'm not making it, but my cousin will.
