She’s running from a past, he’s duty-bound to protect her.
He stands on the other side of sorrow and despair with a love so vast and strong it reaches into her soul and sparks the courage to become the woman she dares.
Cora Williams is an ex-con with no place to go but Gibbs City, Missouri. A small mid-western town where she hopes to remain undisturbed and unobtrusive. With her nephew Jack, her wants are simple, to hide from the horrors of her past.
Sheriff Virgil Carter is a WW2 veteran with demons of his own, but Parker County is his to protect. That includes a young, beautiful woman newly released from prison who longs to be left alone.
Love often comes like sleep, softly, quietly and unexpectedly. You just have to close your eyes and dream.

Jefferson City, Missouri - 1947
Cora Williams focused on her work-hardened hands clasped in front of her and the cinder block wall on the other side of the room.

“Well now, it can’t be time for you to leave us, is it?” Herbert Grubber, the head prison guard, hiked his belted pants over his massive girth and continued in his harassing tone. “I thought you’d be here at least another month.” His bushy brows plowed together tightly then the left side of his mouth lifted in a lopsided grin. “We sure hate to see you go.”

Good morning, Geri

I loved this series. Set right after World War II, i found myself pulled right into the atmosphere and time and became so entangled in the lives of the characters I never wanted to leave.

Are you planning on doing more books in this same time period?

Congratulations on the release! You have definitely been on fire lately with all your writing.

The time period definitely sounds interesting. So glad to see a historical from the twentieth century. Good luck with sales!

Kathy, I thought I was finished at book five, but that's not the case. I've written a lover novella, and I'm almost done with book six. There will be three more books and three more novellas. Then on to another serial in that time frame.

Thank you very much, Linda!

Oh my God, they let a troublemaker on our blog. She's a hacker...give up our blog. If you want danger and excitement in your reading life, this is the author. Someday let her tell you about how she had the FBI showing up at her office to talk to her. No one is safe with Geri around. But her writing is especially good and I'm really enjoying this new series.
